Draft, under legal review

This is a working draft of our privacy notice. It has not been approved yet and may change before it is.

Privacy

Ardent Prep is SAT and ACT practice for students, their families and their tutors. This page says, in plain words, what we collect, who sees it, where it is kept, and what we never do with it.

What we collect

  • About you: your name, your email address, your grade or age band, and, for a student, the link to a parent's account.
  • Your work: the answers you give, how long each one took, and your scores.
  • Comments: what tutors and reviewers write about your work.
  • Google or Microsoft sign-in: if you sign in with one of them, they share only your name and email address with us.

Payments

Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.

Who sees it

  • The student.
  • The student's parent.
  • The student's tutors.
  • Reviewers, but only for the work that is sent to them.
  • Ardent Prep administrators.

Where it is kept

On Microsoft Azure, in the United States (the South Central US region).

What we never do

  • Sell your data.
  • Show you ads.
  • Use students' answers to train AI models.

Children

A child under 13 can use Ardent Prep only through a parent's account. Schools can sign a data agreement with us.

Security

  • Every connection to Ardent Prep is encrypted.
  • Passwords are stored only as one-way hashes, so nobody, including us, can read them.
  • Only a few administrators have access, and only what they need.

Your control

Ask us to download your data or to delete it, and we will. Data you ask us to delete is deleted within 30 days.
